The Thief and the Lion

 Hi Everyone!

Recently I had the blessing of meeting a local Brother in the Lord who had been called from His very reached tribe to the Somalis. He told me his father was the best example of Christ he had ever experienced. I call this story The Thief and the Lion.

My friend started by telling the story of how his father came to Christ and told us His father was an evangelist who died in his 80s. His father's last statement was,” never deny Christ. Die first”. He then told us how his father owned a herd of cows when he was young. One day while tending his herd, some thieves came and beat him severely and stole his herd of cows. Soon after the father recovered, my friend fell sick and was hospitalized for 8 days.

My friend's father came to see him. In the room near my friend was a man who had been attacked by a lion while tending a herd of cows. The father recognized the man who had been attacked as one of his attackers.

On the 8th day, as my friend was being released, the father went to the butcher and bought some meat. He asked the hospital kitchen to prepare the meat and add some cake. My friend, His father, and the thief sat and ate the meal together. The thief recognized who fed him the fantastic meal as they were eating. When the thief was released, the father also gave the man some money for his journey.

The father was a perfect example of loving your enemy and forgiveness. I certainly am challenged by this story. I hope that you enjoy and are challenged by this story as well.

It's easy to see how this will shake much of God's Kingdom, as he has had such a significant influence for decades. Some may even question whether his faith was ever genuine.  I, for one, don't ask about genuine faith as it's a slippery slope. Threshing Floor

 Hi Everyone, Earlier in the month, I was praying into some ministry-related concepts and felt like the Lord said, "Watch the Threshing Floor". I'm not going to go into all the details of why and what I was praying into. However, because I didn't know what a Threshing Floor really was, I had to do some digging. I knew the basic concept of separating good from bad, but I needed to know more. It's my new understanding that I want to share with you. First, Threshing is part of Revival. Why did Jesus flip those tables?

 Hi Everyone! Most of my life, I have wondered, When do we get to flip tables?!  I mean, I don't know about you, but every time I read the story in John 2:13-17 and Matt 21:12,13 (the story is in all the gospels, but these two show a couple key pieces regarding the story), part of me goes " YA!!! Let's do this for a Ministry focus!" Then I walk away a little sad because I don't realize the context of when such aggression is appropriate.
