Taking the Plunge

     Hi, I am Fuzzy,

Welcome to a view of the world, life, and the Kingdom of God from inside my head. If you have read my wife's blog, you know what we do and some stories from our life in the Horn. This will be a different experience. You may see it as raw and unfiltered, but I assure you it is pretty filtered for your own potential digestion. 

Most that know me describe me as generally fair, somewhat crazy, and fun yet serious.

 If I described myself, I would tell you I'm not an optimist or pessimist but rather a realist and that I really just want to see Jesus glorified in everything.

I spent most of my time in America among a demographic that tends to nationalize their faith and even tie the gospel to the current favorite politician. This is common in most of the world but is not a biblical perspective. It wasn't until joining Youth With A Mission, getting a more in-depth biblically-based education, and moving abroad that I realized that everything we know is just a tiny portion of reality and often missing the point of the situation. In doing so, we miss God's biblical answers to many problems. 

Now that you know a little more bout me, where I come from, and where I am, let me explain the purpose of this space. 

I used to publish blurbs on Facebook when we had Facebook. This will be a similar experience. The goal is not to bash any one demographic but rather to objectively look at many situations, perspectives, theological stances, and demographics, to grow deeper with Jesus and a little broader than our own worldview while considering the bigger picture with God's heart in mind. My hope is that in the end, it will grow us all a little deeper with Him so that we may glorify Him well with our lives.

So enjoy your plunge into the madness of my brain. If there is enough evidence for this to be worthwhile, the door will remain open for this swim in my head.

 Hi Everyone! As many of you have heard, Michael Tate, the singer from the Newsboys and previously DC Talk, has been caught in Sexual abuse and  Drug addiction. It's easy to see how this will shake much of God's Kingdom, as he has had such a significant influence for decades. Some may even question whether his faith was ever genuine.  I, for one, don't ask about genuine faith as it's a slippery slope. Not to say I never ask the question, I just don't make a decision because it's the Lord who weighs hearts. I do, however, ask, where is repentance? Threshing Floor

 Hi Everyone, Earlier in the month, I was praying into some ministry-related concepts and felt like the Lord said, "Watch the Threshing Floor". I'm not going to go into all the details of why and what I was praying into. However, because I didn't know what a Threshing Floor really was, I had to do some digging. I knew the basic concept of separating good from bad, but I needed to know more. It's my new understanding that I want to share with you. First, Threshing is part of Revival. This is part of the blog on Jesus flipping the tables.  To understand threshing and threshing floors, I would like to provide you with a mental picture. Imagine a big flat slab of cement either outside or indoors. Why did Jesus flip those tables?

 Hi Everyone! Most of my life, I have wondered, When do we get to flip tables?!  I mean, I don't know about you, but every time I read the story in John 2:13-17 and Matt 21:12,13 (the story is in all the gospels, but these two show a couple key pieces regarding the story), part of me goes " YA!!! Let's do this for a Ministry focus!" Then I walk away a little sad because I don't realize the context of when such aggression is appropriate. Recently, I was coaching a guy online to work with Somalis. We have been going through a book called  Sent to Serve . (I do not receive any funds from the sale of this book.
